About Jelly
A gel dessert made with gelatin or agar; calories depend on sugar content.
Health Benefits of Jelly
Low calorie but low nutrition too
Jelly is ~68 kcal per 100g - low in calories but with almost no protein, vitamins or minerals. Its main ingredients are water (~80-85%), sugar (or sweetener) and a gelling agent (gelatin/agar/konjac gum). Any fullness comes from the water and gel volume, not real nutrition.
Sugar-free and konjac versions are even lighter
Zero-cal jelly uses erythritol or stevia instead of sugar, bringing calories near zero. Konjac jelly adds a little glucomannan (a soluble fibre). Fine as an occasional sweet bite, but don't use jelly as your main hunger filler while dieting.
