Data management

Stored locally — back up regularly

Data is saved locally in your current browser by default and may be lost after clearing browser cache or switching devices. Reminders depend on the browser runtime, so they may not fire if the page is closed or the browser is sleeping.

What the online reminder notepad is good for

This page is great for temporary to-dos, things to handle later, and everyday reminders. Each note supports color tags, one-tap pinning of important items, drag-to-reorder, and a reminder time that fires a browser notification when due. Data stays in your current browser and supports JSON import/export backup. If you only need a one-time alert, try the Online Alarm; to calculate the interval between two reminder dates, pair it with the Date Calculator.

Guide & FAQ

Q: Are my notes uploaded to a server?

A: No. This page uses pure front-end local storage — your notes are saved only in your current browser by default and are never uploaded to the Tooleazy server.

Q: Will reminders fire reliably after I close the browser?

A: Reminders work best while the browser stays running. If the page is closed, the browser sleeps, or the system blocks notifications, pair it with a system alarm as a backup to ensure you are notified on time.

Q: Are my notes still there after clearing browser cache?

A: Not necessarily. Notes are stored locally in your current browser and may be lost after clearing site data, switching browsers, or changing devices — export a JSON backup regularly.

Q: Can I export and import notes?

A: Yes. The page supports exporting a JSON backup and importing a previously exported JSON file for local migration and recovery.

Q: How is this different from a phone memo app?

A: This tool is web-based — no install, just open the browser, and content stays local in your current browser. A phone memo is a system app that often syncs via the cloud. For quick local notes or locked-down work PCs, the web notepad is handier; for multi-device sync, use the system memo.

Q: Does it work on phones or tablets?

A: Yes. It is web-based and opens directly in a phone or tablet browser, with content stored locally in that browser. When switching devices, export the JSON first and then import it.

Q: Which browsers are supported?

A: All major modern browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, etc.) are supported. Reminder notifications depend on browser notification permission; a few old browsers may not support notifications.

Q: Can my note data be lost?

A: Notes are stored locally in your current browser and will not be lost under normal use, but they may be unrecoverable after clearing site data, switching browsers, or changing devices — export a JSON backup regularly.

Q: Do I need to register or log in?

A: No. The page runs entirely on the front end with no registration or login — open and use it immediately, with notes living only in your own browser.

Q: Can I set repeating or lunar reminders?

A: Currently you can set a specific reminder date and time (one-time due reminder). Daily or weekly repeats and lunar reminders are not yet supported; for periodic reminders use a system alarm or calendar.
