About Yellow Wine

A traditional Chinese fermented wine, also used widely as cooking wine.

Health Benefits of Yellow Wine

Both a cooking and a drinking wine

Huangjiu is ~66 kcal per 100ml, with a little carbohydrate (~2.5g) and trace amino acids. In Chinese cooking it's used to marinate meat (the alcohol lifts offfishiness), braise with aroma (alcohol evaporates, leaving the bouquet). Cooking uses most of the alcohol burns off, so alcohol intake can be ignored there.

Limit drinking portions

Drunk straight, a 150ml glass is about 100 kcal. At ~15-18% ABV it's gentle on the palate, but portion control still matters.
