About Starch Sheet
Thin sheets made from starch; high water content and lower calories.
Health Benefits of Starch Sheet
High-moisture, low-calorie starch
100g of fenpi has only 15.5g carbs and 64 kcal because it is about 84% water, far below dry starch noodles. Made from mung-bean or potato starch steamed into translucent sheets, it is smooth, springy and a popular warm-weather cold dish.
Great for light meals
Northeast da-rapei and other cold noodle dishes toss fenpi strips with sesame paste, garlic, vinegar and chili oil, plus cucumber, bean sprouts and gluten. In hot dishes it can be stir-fried with minced meat.
A suitable staple for weight management
At 64 kcal/100g, fenpi is half the calories of rice and a fifth of dry starch noodles, with high water and fair satiety. A 200-300g cold serving (~130-190 kcal) works well as a light main with lots of vegetables. Note sesame paste and chili oil add calories.
