About Milk

A common beverage; provides protein and fat.

Health Benefits of Milk

Great natural source of calcium

Pure milk has roughly 100-120mg calcium per 100ml with a favourable calcium/phosphorus ratio and good absorption. Drinking milk is an effective way to meet the ~800mg daily calcium recommendation and support bone health.

Whey and casein proteins

Milk protein is mostly casein (~80%) with the rest whey. Casein digests slowly, releasing amino acids over time; whey is fast-absorbing and rich in branched-chain amino acids. This blend makes milk a solid all-day protein source.

Lactose-intolerant? Choose alternatives

Some people lack lactase and get bloating or diarrhoea after milk. They can choose lactose-free milk or fermented dairy (yogurt, cheese), which is lower in lactose and easier to digest.
