Image Text Recognition Online - OCR Text from Images
OCR text recognition (Chinese & English)
About Image Text Recognition
Upload an image and click Recognize; mixed Chinese and English text is supported. The first use downloads the language model (about 25MB for Chinese), so please wait. All processing runs locally in your browser — images are never uploaded to a server. If the image contains a QR code, you can also use the QR code decoder to extract its content.
OCR Use Cases
Screenshot text extraction: pull text from chat logs and web screenshots for reuse; Document digitization: photograph paper documents and recognize them into editable text; PDF image handling: extract text from PDF screenshots or scans for archiving; Language assistance: recognize text in foreign-language images for translation or study.
FAQ
How accurate is the OCR?
Accuracy depends on image clarity and text layout. Clear scans and screenshots give high accuracy (over 90%), while blurry images or handwriting reduce it. High-resolution images are recommended.
Why is the first load slow?
The first use must download the Tesseract language model (about 25MB for Chinese); after loading, later recognition is faster. The download progress is shown in real time on the page.
Are images uploaded to a server?
No. OCR runs entirely in your browser via Tesseract.js; your image data never leaves your device.
Which languages are supported?
Simplified Chinese, English, and mixed Chinese-English recognition are supported. Choose the corresponding model in the language option.
