Delayed retirement FAQ

When did the delayed retirement policy take effect?

The gradual delayed-retirement scheme took effect on 1 January 2025: the retirement age rises one month for every four months elapsed. The normal age moves from 60 to 63 for men, from 55 to 58 for female cadres, and from 50 to 55 for female workers.

How are the months of delay calculated?

The delay is based on how many months elapse from your original statutory retirement date to the policy start (January 2025): one extra month of delay applies for every full four months, capped at a maximum. Enter your birth year, month and gender and this tool applies the rule precisely to give your retirement age and delay.

How is the statutory retirement age determined?

The base retirement age is 60 for men, 55 for female cadres and 50 for female workers. The corresponding delay is then added to reach the final statutory retirement age and month. This calculator estimates with the first day of a month as the effective retirement date; figures are for reference and the official standard issued by HRSS authorities prevails.

How do female cadres differ from female workers?

The distinction is usually based on your role as recorded in personnel files or your labour contract: managerial and technical roles are treated as female cadres (55→58), while frontline production and operation roles are treated as female workers (50→55). Confirm the exact classification with your file and employer.
